A state of unrest prevails in the center of the occupied Afrin region and the center of the city, on one hand a mobilization of civilian and military police militias and on the other hand a concern that dominated the families of mercenaries who were transferred to Azerbaijan
The Afrinpost correspondent reported that a general state of unrest prevails among the military and civilian police militias, and because of this, instructions have been issued to carry out thorough inspections of cars passing by their checkpoints.
On the other hand, the reporter adds, the mothers and wives of some mercenaries of “Liwa Al-Salam” militia and the women began to go to the brigade headquarters behind the garage to ask about the conditions of the sons and husbands who were transferred as mercenaries to join the battle fronts in Azerbaijan, especially after news of the ferocity of the battles and the high number of deaths in ranks of Syrian mercenaries, and losing contacts with them.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights had mentioned in its report on 10/18/2020 that the number of Syrian mercenaries killed in the battles of Nagorny Karabakh had risen to 134, and the bodies of 92 of them arrived in Syria, while remaining bodies to be transferred later.
The Observatory also stated that a group of mercenaries gave up everything from their material and other dues and preferred to return to Syria rather than stay in Azerbaijan due to the ferocity of the battles there.
The observatory also monitored the Turkish government’s transfer of a new batch of mercenaries to Azerbaijan, and the batch consisted of more than 400 fighters from the “Sultan Murad and Hamzat” militias and other militias, who were preparing to go, but the ceasefire that took place under Russian auspices and entered into force as of Saturday night, however, prevented this at that time, and the number of Syrian mercenaries who were transferred to Azerbaijan until the date of preparing the report exceeded 2050 mercenaries.
