On the eighteenth of August, armed men from the Islamic militias affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood kidnapped two brothers from the village of “Shekhutka” of the district of “Mobata / Ma’batli” in the countryside of the occupied Kurdish region of Afrin in northern Syria.

The correspondent of “Afrinpost” at the center of Mobata district said that the two kidnapped are “Bashar Muhammad Hannan,” 20 years old, and “Asad Muhammad Hannan,” 28 years old, whose fate is still unknown until now.

The reporter indicated that “Bashar” was arrested in Afrin city center by the “Political Security” militia, and later, his brother came to Afrin to seek the release of his brother, but he was arrested at the western entrance checkpoint of Afrin, which is a common checkpoint between the “Civil Police” militia and soldiers of The Turkish occupation.

The Islamic militias rely on kidnapping as a way to obtain money, which is one of the methods they have followed since the beginning of the occupation of Afrin, while the Turkish occupation supervises these operations as one of the methods of displacing the Kurds and preventing the displaced from returning.
