Kurdish elderly woman was kidnapped a year ago on fabricated charges for taking over her homes

The fate of the elderly citizen, Um Alaa’, remains unknown for nearly a year since she was kidnapped by the militia of the “Al-Shamiya Front” of the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood, from her home in Al-Ashrafieh neighborhood of the occupied center of Afrin.

Um Alaa’ is “Zahida Shabak” aged 60, the widow of “Mohamed Sheikho” from the people of the “Naza” village of the “Bulbul” district, and her kidnapping took place after her refusal to grant the militants three houses (at her disposal), one of which belongs to one of her son-in-law, the militia fabricated finding weapons in her house, where the gunmen placed weapons in one of those houses, and then they stormed the house.

After that, “Um Alaa'” was kidnapped under the pretext of possessing weapons and dealing with the “People’s Protection Units/ YPG”, and all her houses were seized and their contents were stolen completely.

The “Afrinpost” correspondent in the occupied Kurdish region of Afrin, added that the son-in-law of the kidnapped citizen, Um Alaa’, ” Jwan Waqqas”, tried to restore his home and the homes of his mother-in-law, by filing a complaint with the militia, “Military Police”, but the militia “Al-Shamiya Front” kidnapped him about a month ago and released him, after paying a $ 300 ransom, as well as abandoning the demand for homes seized by the militia.

On November 20, 2019, militants of the “Al-Shamiya Front” militia plundered the house of “Um Alaa’”, who had been arrested since the previous summer, when the Afrinpost reporter said at the time that the “Bayanouni Group” The militia of the “Al-Shamiya Front” militia emptied, by truck, all the contents of Ms. Um Alaa’s house, located in the Abu Rami Al-Mashrubat building in Al-Ashrafieh.
