The Kurdish folk singer, Amer Abu Al-Nour, retired from singing, in grief for his hometown, and in solidarity with the victims of the terrorist bombing in the city of Afrin on the twenty-eighth of April.

The singer “Amer” wrote a brief post attached to a personal picture “crying” on his Facebook page, saying: “With these words, I retire from singing after the death of the dear ones. Dear beloved ones, I will devote myself to writing for Afrin,” indicating that he lost a number of his loved ones as a result of the terrorist bombing .

Sources close to him said that the folk singer will not sing on official occasions, but he will devote himself to composing songs for the benefit of the young singers.

It is noteworthy that the singer “Muhammad Aref Genc”, his stage name “Amer Abu Al-Nour”, was born in 1960, and he has sung in wedding and occasions in Kurdish and Arabic since 1973, and he belongs to the generation of the great singer Adnan Dilbreen, Walid Musa and others.

The singer “Amer” is currently residing in Istanbul, Turkey, and he is one of the people of the “Hamame / Hamam” village of Jenderes District.

Afrin did not witnessed any of these explosions during the seven years of the “self-administration” rule from 2012 to March 2018, as the people of the region were responsible for protecting it, but Afrin has not known peace since the Turkish military occupation, accompanying its clients are Muslim Brotherhood militants, who call themselves the “Syrian National Army / Free Army”.
