Within the framework of its evil role, by giving the appearance of legitimacy to the Turkish occupation and supporting the settlement and the domination of the law of the jungle imposed by the Islamic militias affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood in the occupied Kurdish Afrin region, the councils formed by the occupation, continue to implement the instructions it receives from the intelligence of the Turkish occupation, aimed at enabling the project of Demographic change in favor of the settlers, and to ensure the implementation of the occupation.
In the context, the “Afrinopost” reporter at the Afrin Center said that the so-called “local council” has raised the monthly water bill from 2000 to 3 thousand syrian pounds.
The reporter stated that the “council” of the Turkish occupation had cut off drinking water for Afrin two weeks ago, on the pretext of asphalting roads.
In other way, the Occupation Council compelled the public taxi owners to put a sticker on the taxi, on which the “taxi and vehicle number” is written, for a fee of 5,000 syrian pounds.
Since the beginning of its military takeover of Afrin in March 2018, the Turkish occupation had formed formal councils affiliated to it in the center of Afrin and its six areas.
Occupation councils play a suspicious role represented in the legalization of criminal acts committed by settlers and armed men, by enacting legislation that justifies their robbery and appropriation under false pretenses.
In 2018 and 2019, it enacted decisions to legalize the theft of agricultural seasons on the pretext of taxes, whereby Islamic militias and councils seized part of the crops, as well as to justify the Turkish invasion of new areas in northern Syria, to confirm its existential link with the presence of the occupation.
