Afrinpost – Special
Late last week, the Turkish occupation intelligence dismissed an Imam and preacher of the mosque in the countryside of the occupied Kurdish region of Afrin, because of his daring condemnation of violations by Islamic militias affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood.
Informed sources confirmed to the “Afrinpost” that the Turkish intelligence had instructed the militia leader, “Brigade 112”, to inform him of the decision to dismiss Sheikh “Abd al-Rahman Ramousa”, known as “Abu Muhammad”, from his work as an imam of the mosque in the town of “Baadina”, which belongs to Raju district, for nearly two decades, despite the fact that he did not receive any financial salaries from any governmental or administrative authority during the past period, as the townspeople were sponsoring monthly collections for him.
The sources added that the dismissal decision is due to several reasons, including that he is not registered in the list of imams and preachers of the “Pasha Karaga” school, from which the Turkish occupation leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan graduated.
Sheikh Abdul Rahman comes from a village in the Shahba regions, and was investigated several times by the Turkish occupation for his daring condemnation of theft, looting and social grievances that were carried out by Islamic militia militants known as the “Syrian National Army” against the people of the occupied Kurdish region.
He also condemned the stealing the town’s collections from copper utensils for washing the dead, electric power boards, batteries, and some loudspeaker devices by armed militia occupying the town during the beginning of the occupation.
The sources also mentioned that Sheikh “Abd al-Rahman” is respected by the people of the town, and last Thursday, the people bid farewell to an influential word at the mosque, then he moved to his home in the city of Afrin, which was previously looted by Islamic militants.
