In a series of escalated military actions, Turkish forces have conducted heavy artillery bombardments on several villages in the Manbij region of northern Syria. Over two consecutive days, the villages of Arab Hassan, Al-Jat, and Aoun al-Dadat came under intense shelling, resulting in the death of a civilian, 22-year-old Mohammad Ahmad Khalaf from the village of Tel Arsh. Additionally, one fighter from the Manbij Military Council and a Syrian army soldier were killed.
In response, the Manbij Military Council launched a counterattack, targeting a Turkish military base in the village of Umm Shukayf, east of Al-Bab. However, no confirmed details on casualties among Turkish forces have been released.
In a related development, Turkish forces targeted the area surrounding Al-Ahmar Gas Station near the village of Deir Jamal in the northern Aleppo countryside at dawn on Tuesday, October 15th. On Monday, artillery fire also struck the villages of Hassajik and Gharnata Farms in Al-Shahba region. Despite the intensity of the attacks, no human casualties were reported, with damages limited to property and infrastructure.
This escalation follows ongoing tensions in the region as Turkish-backed forces continue operations in northern Syria, leading to mounting civilian and military casualties.
