Military Police Arrest Civilians in Afrin, Demand Ransom for Release

The “Military Police” militia arrested two civilians yesterday, identified as Khaled Obeid (44 years old) from the Bustan Basha neighborhood in Aleppo and Jiwan Hameed (41 years old) from Jindires, both of whom work in the construction contracting industry, our correspondent reported.

According to the correspondent, the men were detained at the Jindires–Tal Sallor road and accused of collaborating with the Autonomous Administration. The “Military Police” is reportedly demanding a ransom of $5,000 for their release.

In a separate incident, around five days ago, Turkish forces arrested 53-year-old Salah Hanan from the village of Qurta in Bulbul sub-district. He was taken from his home near the municipal stadium by the Villas Street highway in Afrin, where he worked at the “Block Al-Ghouta” factory on the new bridge road. No reasons were given for his arrest.
