Afrin, Syria – The “Military Police” militia arrested two citizens yesterday morning on charges of alleged collaboration with the Autonomous Administration, according to our reporter on the city. The detainees, identified as Hassan Mohammed Othman (47 years old) from the village of Ramadiya and Haitham Bakr Hussein (43 years old) from the Yalanquz neighborhood in Jindires, both work in the motorcycle trade.
In a separate incident, nine days ago, security forces at the Terenda checkpoint, south of Afrin, arrested two other individuals. The detainees, Ziyad Hassan Jamo, born in 1983 in the village of Barad in Shirawa, and Maher Mahmoud (39 years old) from the city of Hama, were accused of involvement in smuggling activities between Afrin and the town of Nubl, which is under the control of Syrian government forces.
These arrests are part of ongoing security operations in the region, with accusations ranging from collaboration with political entities to involvement in illicit activities like smuggling.
