Our correspondent reports that IDP Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Saleh, also known as Abu Rateb, originally from Eastern Ghouta in Damascus countryside, has sold four houses near Al-Hayat Pharmacy in Al-Ashrafiyeh neighborhood of Afrin. These houses, which he had seized since 2018, were sold to his comrades in the Ahrar al-Sham militia for $900 each. The rightful owner of these homes is forcibly displaced Mohammed Rashid from the village of Aranda in the Sheikh Hadid/Şiyê district.
Additionally, Abu Ras, a member of the military police militia from Tel Rifaat in northern Aleppo, recently seized an entire building comprising eight apartments and four shops on the Sarfis Road in Al-Ashrafiyeh. This building belongs to Shiyar Sheikho from the village of Meydano in the Rajo district. Abu Ras took over the property as compensation for previous extortion fees imposed on Sheikho. The estimated value of the building is $176,000.
Moreover, Abu Omar Bari, also from Tel Rifaat, extorted $2,500 from Shiyar Sheikho, claiming he was wanted by security forces.
Furthermore, Abu Ras had previously seized a house and two shops from citizen Nazmi Mohammed/Abu Mohammed from Khalilaka village in the Bulbul district, located on the Sarfis Road in Al-Ashrafiyeh. He extorts money from citizens while manning the arch checkpoint, receiving direct support from Ahmed Jamal Kabso, the leader of the Afrin military police militia.
