Local sources revealed to “afrinpost” that militia forces, identified as the Ninth Division, have erected three two-story buildings on agricultural land atop the summit of Mount Qaljiqah in the village of Mamala Gharbi, located in the Rajo sub-district.
According to the sources, the land, which includes 110 fruitful trees and a water well, belongs to the elderly Ismail Ahmed from the village of Mamala Gharbi. His children had previously cultivated the land and extracted stones from it before cultivation.
In terms of ownership, the land originally belonged to the late Mohammed Moussa from the neighboring village of Mosaka. After his passing, his wife Fatima sold the land to Ismail Ahmed and Kharmann Aref Hassan (the former mayor of Mamala Gharbi) jointly. The latter then sold his share to Masoud, the son of Ismail Ahmed, making the entire property owned by Ismail Ahmed’s children, a fact attested to by all villagers.
The purpose of the construction remains unclear, prompting questions whether the project is intended to serve as a camp for the division or residences for its leaders, namely Captain Abdul Nasir Jalal Shalhoub and Haroun Rashid, both hailing from Darat Azza.
