Turkish Authorities Release Citizen After Fine Payment

According to our reporter in Afrin yesterday, April 15th, Turkish authorities have released Azad Ismat Hannan on April 5th, following the payment of a $2,000 fine.

Azad, a resident of Chaqala village in Şiyê/Sheikh al-Hadid district, was apprehended over a month ago, around March 12, 2024, on suspicion of involvement in the Newroz Roundabout explosion on February 6, 2024. He had to pay a hefty fine despite being innocent and without any charges proven against him.

Furthermore, the military police militia detained eight Kurdish citizens from their residences near Newroz Roundabout, accusing them of being linked to the motorcycle blast in the heart of occupied Afrin city.
