In a recent development, Turkish authorities have relocated approximately 15 Syrian detainees, including six women, from Kafr Jannah prison in the Afrin countryside to prisons within Turkish territory. This move comes after about two months of their initial detention.
According to reports from the North Press Agency, a source within the military police militia associated with the Turkish authorities revealed that they orchestrated the transfer of detainees, including six young women, from Kafr Jannah prison, located east of Afrin city, to a prison facility inside Turkish borders. The detainees were arrested nearly two months ago on charges related to their previous associations with the Autonomous Administration in Afrin.
The transfer operation was conducted through the Hammam crossing in the Jindires sub-district. The source further disclosed that this transfer marks the third instance of its kind from prisons in the occupied Afrin region since the commencement of the current month of March. Additionally, the total number of detainees transferred has now reached 27, with 11 of them being women.
