Turkish authorities in occupied Afrin arrested a deportee from Turkish lands and another returnee from forced displacement in Aleppo, fining him before release.
According to our correspondent, “Mohammed Hassan Hassan” from Mazen village was arrested by the Turkish-allied military police, accusing him of past involvement with the Autonomous Administration. Mohammed, aged 32, was recently deported from Turkey.
Additionally, Ahmed Bakr, 57, from Bulbul, was detained two weeks ago and was released after a week upon paying a $400 fine, despite returning from displacement in Aleppo.
“afrinpost” documented 39 cases of arrest and abduction in March 2024, including 3 women, with 10 cases targeting recent returnees. Twenty cases of release were also recorded.
