The armed group affiliated with pro-Iran militias in Nubl and Zahraa cities demanded a ransom of 46 million Syrian pounds for the release of a group of forcibly displaced Afrin citizens abducted on the Aleppo road in northern Aleppo countryside.
According to our correspondent, militants from Nubl and Zahraa militias are demanding a ransom of 46 million Syrian pounds from the Afrin and Shahba District Councils in exchange for releasing over 20 abducted displaced individuals from Afrin to the Shahba region. Negotiations continue by dignitaries from Nubl and Zahraa to secure their release.
On February 7th, armed individuals kidnapped over 40 displaced individuals from Afrin and detained ten private and public vehicles while they were en route to Aleppo.
In response, Internal Security Forces (Asayish) detained five vehicles belonging to armed individuals from Nubl and Zahraa to pressure them into releasing the hostages.
Following the intervention of dignitaries from Nubl and Zahraa cities and members of the Shahba District Council, only 20 citizens were released on February 8th, while the rest remain in captivity by the militants.
