Today, on January 21, Turkish forces launched a relentless shelling campaign on civilian-inhabited villages in the Shahba region, as well as the Sheraw and Sharan districts of Afrin in northern Aleppo countryside. The targeted areas included villages like Abbin and Soghonakha in Sherawa, Shwarga, Maranaaz, Al-Malikiyah in Sharan, along with Beylonia, Al-Sha’ala, Tilal al-Inab and Sheikh Issa in the Shahba region.
In a parallel development, the Syrian Army responded with heavy artillery shelling directed at villages such as Kafr Taal and Kafr Ama in the western Aleppo countryside. This retaliation came in the wake of the death of First Lieutenant Hamed Al-Halbouni, caused by an attack from Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham on the 46th Regiment axis in the western Aleppo countryside.
