On January 5th, Turkish forces arrested Hassan Bakr Kuto, a 47-year-old Kurdish citizen in Afrin, accusing him of working in institutions affiliated with the previous Autonomous Administration in Afrin province. Hassan, who runs his electrical appliances store, was detained during the process of licensing his car at the transportation office in the village of Terende, according to our reporter.

On January 15th, the Political Security militia, under Turkish authorities, arrested Shukri Mohammed, known as Abu Samak, a 39-year-old citizen, alleging facial resemblance. Shukri operates a market stall in Afrin city and was released after two hours.

It is noteworthy that Turkish authorities persist in detaining Kurdish citizens on various dubious charges, especially those returning to the occupied Afrin region after years of forced displacement.
