Armed militias aligned with Ankara persist in their egregious violation of Kurdish citizens’ properties and lands through the relentless felling of trees, an activity ongoing for six years since the occupation of the Afrin region.
According to our sources, four unidentified militants recently cut down 28 olive trees and two fig trees along the water channel road near the village of Tal Tawil in the occupied countryside of Afrin. The land in question belongs to Akram, a resident of Hisê\Mirkan village in the Mobata district, who resides near the Shariya Park in the occupied city of Afrin.
This incident follows the documented felling of more than 135 olive trees on January 23 by armed individuals affiliated with the “Sultan Murad” militia and others from the loyalist clan.
