Amidst ongoing security challenges and the proliferation of weapons trade in Turkish-controlled northern Syria, an IDP from Aleppo’s Bab al-Nayrab neighborhood fired shots today, January 4, at a workshop belonging to the Water Directorate in Afrin. The workers were in the process of repairing the main tank in Al-Ashrafieh neighborhood of occupied Afrin.
According to our correspondent, the IDP claimed to have opened fire because the workers had allegedly took a look at women at his house in the vicinity of the tank, located 200 meters away.
Yesterday, on January 3, afrinpost documented an assault by members of the “Northern Storm\ A’asifat al-Shamal” militia who brutally attacked a female citizen and used offensive language while distributing relief supplies in a school in Aazaz. The incident also involved random gunfire near the school, causing panic among students, as the militia attempted to seize the humanitarian aid.
