In a coordinated effort between Turkish authorities and Syrian National Army militias, 12 Syrians, including three girls, were transferred from Kafr Janna Prison in the Afrin countryside on charges of affiliating with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
According to North Press Agency citing an administrative source from the military police militia, Turkish intelligence, in coordination with the military police, transferred 12 detainees from Kafr Janna Prison to Turkish territory through the Hammam Border Crossing on the morning of December 7, 2023.
The source added that the detainees had been held in the mentioned prison for three months, arrested while attempting to reach Turkish territory, charged with affiliation to the PKK.
Among the detainees were three girls identified as Sahar Khani (20 years old), Jouri Surur (22 years old), and Arwa Mohammed (27 years old).
This comes after Turkish authorities transferred six Syrian detainees from Kafr Janna Prison to its territory on November 17, 2023, on charges of affiliating with hostile entities, based on pre-prepared investigation reports.
During November, Turkish intelligence has transferred over 60 Syrian detainees from various militia-controlled prisons in areas like Tel Abyad, Serekaniye, Afrin, and the Sejjo Prison south of Azaz to its prisons in Turkish territory.
