Three members of the Civil and Military Police militias suffered serious injuries Yesterday, December 11, due to the detonation of an explosive device planted within a civilian pickup truck. The incident occurred at the Shat checkpoint along the road that connects the occupied cities of Azaz and Afrin.
In response to the explosion, the military police militia swiftly established a security cordon around the blast site, temporarily preventing citizens from using the road until the debris is cleared.
The Turkish-controlled areas and its associated armed militias are experiencing a heightened state of disorder, security breaches, explosions, and targeted assassinations. This unsettling situation persists amidst the absence of robust laws to mitigate such occurrences.
On the evening of November 18, 2023, another explosive device, concealed within a freight truck (trailer truck), went off at the military police militia checkpoint stationed at the entrance of the occupied city of Afrin (known as the Qaws checkpoint) along the Afrin-Azaz road. This tragic event resulted in the loss of life for a member of the military police militia and injuries to several others, including civilians.
