Our reporter in Afrin revealed that the whereabouts of Abdulrahman Kinjo, a resident of the village of Badina in the Rajo district, remain unknown since his arrest almost nine months ago. Shockingly, he has yet to be presented before the court, facing accusations of collaborating with Afrin’s former autonomous Administration.
Abdulrahman Kinjo was apprehended on April 19, 2023, by checkpoint personnel at the entrance of Azaz while en route to Azaz Hospital. He stands charged with engaging with the former Autonomous Administration and was subsequently handed over to the terrorism combat headquarters in the occupied city of Azaz.
A month following his initial arrest, the military police militia in Azaz transferred Abdulrahman Kinjo from Azaz Prison to the infamous Al-Ra’i Prison, where he reportedly endured severe torture, leading to a significant decline in his health.
In a distressing turn of events, in late May 2023, the military police militia demanded a sum of five thousand dollars from Abdulrahman’s family in exchange for his release from Al-Ra’i Prison.
Abdulrahman Kinjo, born in 1982, is an only child, married, and currently resides in Afrin city opposite Al-Shari’a School.
