In a late-night operation, Turkish forces unleashed heavy artillery fire on the environs of Tell Rifaat city and Marnaz village in the Sharan district of Afrin’s countryside. This offensive coincided with intermittent clashes between the Syrian regime army and the Turkish-affiliated “National Army” militias along the Marnaz axis. Fortunately, no human casualties were reported on either side during the confrontations.
In a related development, the Syrian regime army executed a infiltration maneuver supported by intense artillery and missile fire against positions held by the “Hayat Tahrir al-Sham” organization on the Kafr Taal village axis west of Aleppo. The confrontation escalated into fierce clashes, persisting until the late hours of last night.
Subsequently, the regime army withdrew from the infiltrated positions following the loss of two soldiers, with a third sustaining injuries. Conversely, one member of the “Hayat Tahrir al-Sham” organization was reported killed, and four others sustained injuries during the engagement.
