Kurdish Civilians Abducted in Afrin: Militants Seize their Van Loaded with Olive Oil

On the evening of November 23, armed militants affiliated with the “Syrian National Army” kidnapped two Kurdish civilians and confiscated a van loaded with olive oil cans at a crossroads in the Mobata district of occupied Afrin.

According to our correspondent, the abducted individuals are Munther Bilal from Khilalka village in Bulbul district, a prominent oil merchant with businesses in the town of Rajo. The second person kidnapped is Jwan Hassan Kalu from Rajo, who collaborates with Munther in the oil trade. The incident occurred as they were traveling with a vehicle loaded with oil barrels, taken to an undisclosed location.

It’s noteworthy that Saeed Rashid Majid, a Kurdish citizen and owner of the “Jebieh” olive press in Rajo, was previously abducted by the “Hamza Division” militia. This incident took place in Wadi al-Nashab/Gelî Tîra. The abduction occurred on the night of November 11, 2019, while Saeed was returning from Afrin to his residence in Rajo. His car was found abandoned after receiving a financial transfer of over $30,000.

After approximately three months, Saeed’s lifeless body was discovered discarded in the olive fields near here Hisê/Mirkan village in Mobata\Ma’batli district.
