Local sources indicate that the Turkish-backed “Faylaq al-Sham,” has implemented a series of levies on the residents of Dîkê\Dikeh village in the Bulbul district. This imposition coincides with an ongoing campaign of tree felling, targeting the agricultural lands owned by Kurdish citizens in the occupied Afrin countryside.
Under the pretext of various designations, “Faylaq Al-Sham” has compelled Kurdish families in Dikeh village to contribute the equivalent of two oil cans each, resulting in the collection of approximately 150 oil cans.
Furthermore, the militia has imposed a levy of 50% on the yield from power of attorney-owned lands dedicated to olive oil production. Additionally, they’ve mandated a guard levy of 15 Turkish liras, coupled with an oil can, translating to approximately 90 US dollars, on each Kurdish farm.
In a separate incident, armed individuals associated with the “Sultan Murad” militia took part in the felling of 75 olive trees belonging to Ahmad Aref in Ain al-Hajar village, Rajo district, on November 24. The logs were subsequently transported to the village junction for sale.
Meanwhile, the “Faylaq Al-Majd” militia, controlling Kela village in the Bulbul district, has imposed a levy of 15 Turkish liras on each productive olive tree. Additionally, a separate levy has been imposed, encompassing four oil cans and a can of olive, targeting every Kurdish farmer currently residing in Afrin.
