Armed Members Cut 16 Olive Trees after Looting in Afrin

Armed thieves recently cut down 16 olive trees along the Gelî Şiyê road after looting their olives on November 10. The targeted trees belong to Hamid Suleiman, a resident of Khaziana village in the Mobata sub-district of the occupied Afrin region.

afrinpost” had previously reported on November 5 an incident where militias affiliated with Ankara and local IDPs cut 125 olive trees after looting them in the occupied Afrin countryside.

Furthermore, members of the Turkish-affiliated “Hamza/Hamzat” militia cut approximately 18 walnut trees, 10 juniper trees, and over 100 pomegranate trees in the village of Ain Dara.

According to the Monitoring and Documentation Department of North Press Agency on November 8, Turkish-affiliated militias have cut more than 4,400 olive trees since the beginning of this year. The primary perpetrators are the “Hamzat” militia, responsible for cutting over 2,632 trees. The “Ahrar Al-Sharqiya” militia has cut 680 trees, “Faylaq al-Sham” cut 554 trees, and 272 trees were cut by the “Sultan Murad” militia. The “Suleiman Shah/Al-Amshat” militia members also cut 253 trees.
