Members of the Turkish-affiliated “Al-Hamza Division” militia, have ruthlessly cut down approximately 18 walnut trees, 10 juniper trees, and over 100 pomegranate trees in the village of Ain Dara in the Sherawa sub-district of occupied Afrin.
The land ownership belongs to Mustafa Hussein, a resident of Kurzeleh village, who also serves as the village Mukhtar of Ain Dara.
It is worth noting that Ankara-backed militias claim to cut down olive trees after looting their harvest to trade the wood as winter approaches. In reality, their actions aim to destroy the land and fields that constitute the primary source of income for the people of Afrin.
Armed individuals led by the so-called “Nidal al-Bayanooni” group previously cut down 57 olive trees after stealing their fruits from the forcibly displaced citizen Jamil Oso’s field in the village of Qastal Muqdad, located in the Bulbul sub-district.
Furthermore, militia members from the “Ninth Division” looted the harvest of 50 olive trees in the village of Cheh/Çê in the Rajo sub-district, owned by citizen Hassan Hannan, and subsequently felled 15 trees from his field.
