Our reporter in Afrin reports a series of thefts and a forced property sale in the occupied city of Afrin, highlighting the ongoing state of security chaos since the Turkish forces and its allied SNA groups took control of the region.
In detail, a robbery took place at a hookah shop on October 20, located on Al-Sarfis Road in al-Ashrafieh neighborhood. The stolen items are estimated to be worth around $2,000, according to the shop owner, an IDP named “Mahmoud Hayek.”
Furthermore, armed robbers raided the house of “Ahmed Batal,” who is from Ghazawiyah village, located near Bilal Mosque on the morning of October 21, stealing money and gold jewelry.
On October 18, an IDP originally from Douma in the countryside of Damascus sold the house of “Ali Ahmed,” a forcibly displaced resident from Afrin. The house is located behind the Bazaar Market in al-Ashrafieh neighborhood, and the sale was made for a sum of $1,500. This further underscores the alarming security situation in occupied Afrin.
