Militias Intimidate Kurds Demanding to Reclaim Property in Afrin

afrinpost-Exclusive

In the lawless environment of the occupied region of Afrin, Turkish-backed militias have been continuously exerting threats and intimidation, even to the point of death, against Kurdish civilians.

According to our correspondent, members of the group led by “Ammar Bayanouni,” affiliated with the “Sultan Murad Brigade,” have been systematically intimidating “Luqman Muhammad Abu Hussein,” a resident of Qastal Khudriya village in the Bulbul sub-district. This harassment follows Luqman’s complaint in an attempt to reclaim his home and olive orchard comprising 159 trees in the village.

Faced with the relentless threats, Luqman was compelled to flee the village and take refuge in the city of Afrin. However, this didn’t deter the armed elements of “Bayanouni’s” group, who pursued him to his home in Afrin. Luqman, in fear for his life, decided to abandon his residence and seek shelter elsewhere. Nonetheless, the militias continue their relentless search for him, raising concerns, especially after their leader, “Ammar Bayanouni,” was arrested by the military police militia in Rajo on charges of corruption, embezzlement, and theft.
