Our correspondent in Afrin reports that armed members of Turkish-backed militias have cut down 35 olive trees and four walnut trees from the fields of Kurdish civilians. Additionally, they have stolen solar panels intended for irrigating agricultural land.
In detail, members of the Sultan Murad militia, on September 1st, cut down 25 olive trees between the villages of Jumkeh and Qaratapa and four large walnut trees after harvesting their season. These trees belonge to forcibly displaced citizen Hannan Sheikho from the village of Qaratapa in occupied Afrin’s countryside.
Moreover, ten olive trees near the village of Qurtqalaq were cut down on September 5th. These trees belonge to citizen Sheikh Mouss Naasan from the village of Qastal Kisshk.
On another note, 30 solar panels were stolen on September 2nd from a room built among the olive groves in the village of Faqira, located in the Jindires sub-district. These panels were the property of citizen Hasan Ahmad from the village of Tillef and were used to power a well and irrigate agricultural lands.
