Illegal sales and theft of properties belonging to Kurdish citizens persist, perpetrated by armed individuals associated with Turkish-backed forces and their IDPs allies in Afrin.
According to our sources in the city, an armed individual named “Walid Oso Hayani” sold the house of citizen “Fathi Othman,” a resident of Kafardaleh village, located in al-Ashrafiya neighborhood, for a sum of one thousand dollars.
An IDP originally from Homs also sold three houses near al-Feel Street in al-Ashrafiya neighborhood then relocated to the occupied city of Tal Abyad in northern Raqqa countryside. The houses in question are owned by citizens “Mohammed Sheikh Mouss, Ahmed Sheikh Mouss, and Hassan Sheikh Mouss” from Deir Siwan village in the Shara subdistrict.
On another note, the house of citizen “Mohammed Bahri Mannan” was stolen. The house is located north of the water tank in al-Ashrafiya neighborhood. The thieves took advantage of his absence and targeted his house while he was in the Qastal Mqdad village in the Shara subdistrict. They stole pumps, batteries, solar panels, inverters, an old copper pot, and a television screen.
