Turkish Journalist Hamza Tekin reported on his Facebook page that he visited the Jindires area on July 28, where the Turkish charity organization “Sadakataşı” is building hundreds of houses to aid Syrians affected by the devastating earthquake that struck southern Turkey and northern Syria on February 6th.
Tekin mentioned that the project is supported by some of their Palestinian brothers residing in occupied Jerusalem, describing it as a remarkable fusion of solidarity between Palestine, Turkey, and Syria, emphasizing the unity of the nation despite attempts to divide it.
The journalist emphasized that Turkey has become the link reconnecting Palestinian and Syrian brotherhood.
Tekin concluded by stating that they will return to inaugurate these houses and launch more developmental projects.
It is worth noting that “Sadakataşı” is a Turkish charity organization involved in various aid activities in African and Asian countries.
Palestinian-funded Settlement Projects
The Palestinian support previously contributed to building mosques in the occupied Afrin. However, this support has now shifted towards backing settlement projects, including:
- Umm Tubba Settlement: Located in the village of Şadêrê/Sheikh al-Dair in the Jindires area. The name is derived from a Palestinian village.
- Jad Settlement Project: Situated in al-Khalidiyah area, southeast of Afrin city.
- Al-Zaeem Settlement: Established in the village of Kafr Safra in the Jindires area. Implemented by the Palestinian organization “Wafa al-Muhsinin.” The name “Al-Zaeem” is related to a Palestinian village near Jerusalem.
- Near al-Muhammadiya Settlement: Close to the village of al-Muhammadiya, south of Jindires city. Executed by “Wafa al-Muhsinin Charitable Association,” which has completed the construction of around 50 residential apartments.
- Ajnadine Palestine: Constructed on usurped land between the villages of Hammelka and Rifatia, east of Jindires town. Implemented by the “Idlib al-Watan Team,” with funding from Palestinian communities. The “Ajnadine Relief Charitable Association” is involved in building 200 houses.
- Maratah Settlement: Supported by the Palestinian charity organization “Living with Dignity.” The project encompasses the construction of 100 houses.
