Two IDPs Injured in Shooting Incident Following Assault on Child in Afrin

On June 4th, two IDPs were wounded as a result of gunfire by a member of the Turkish-affiliated “Sultan Murad” militia, following an assault on a 13-year-old child in the village of Qarah Tabbah, located in the Shara sub-district of occupied Afrin.

According to our correspondent there, the militia member belonging to the “Sultan Murad” group physically attacked the child. When two young men, IDPs from Hama, intervened to stop the assault, the militia member opened fire on them and fled towards the city of Azaz. The injured individuals were transported to the military hospital in Afrin.

In a separate incident on May 29th, four IDPs and a child from occupied Afrin were injured in a brawl between IDPs from Eastern Ghouta and others from the western countryside of Aleppo. The altercation occurred after a child threw a stone at a seized property in the Al-Mahmoudiya neighborhood of occupied Afrin.

Furthermore, on May 26th, a woman sustained serious injuries from a stray bullet during clashes between the Al-Hazourani family from the Al-Mawali tribe and individuals from the city of Palmyra in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, in the occupied area of Al-Bab.
