On June 7th, the military police militia in A’zaz apprehended a woman suspected of belonging to the ranks of the Syrian regime’s Fourth Division while attempting to enter Turkish territory through smuggling routes.
According to our correspondent, Ms. Nisreen Ali, born in 1988, entered the occupied city of Afrin through smugglers affiliated with the “National Army” militias, coming from Damascus. While in A’zaz, she was accompanied by members of the “Al-Jabha al-Shamiya” militia who were attempting to facilitate her entry into Turkish territory. However, their plans were exposed, forcing them to hand her over to the military police militia in A’zaz.
Earlier on May 23rd, the military police militia in A’zaz had detained a soldier named Basil Jackish, born in 1979 and hailing from Salamiyah in the Hama countryside. He was en route to Turkish territory through smuggling routes. The militia’s leader, known as “Abu Hafs,” handed him over to a smuggler named “Rajab Al-Issa,” in preparation for his transfer to Turkey in exchange for a sum of 10,000 US dollars. However, upon their exposure, they resorted to eliminating him within the prison.
Additionally, the “Mohammed Al-Fateh” militia released a soldier from the Syrian regime’s army named “Ibrahim Rasoul Saleh” on April 11, 2023, in exchange for a ransom of 25,000 US dollars. Out of this amount, 3,000 US dollars were given to the court in the city of Al-Ra’i in the Aleppo countryside to cover up the smuggling operation of the individual to Aleppo city by the “Fateh” militia.
