Yesterday, June 11th, the Afrin Liberation Forces targeted two military bases belonging to the Turkish forces using rocket launchers and heavy artillery. One of the bases was located in the village of Kaljibrin in northern Aleppo countryside, while the other was near the Bab Al-Salama border crossing on the Syrian-Turkish border.
According to our correspondent, the intense artillery and missile shelling on the Turkish bases resulted in rising smoke, but there is no information yet regarding casualties or injuries among the Turkish military forces. Turkish reconnaissance aircraft were observed hovering over the area.
Meanwhile, the Turkish forces shelled the outskirts of the city of Tel Rifaat in northern Aleppo countryside, as well as the villages of Abbin and Kashat’ar in the Shara sub-district of occupied Afrin, with no information available regarding the extent of the damages caused.
This escalation comes after three fighters from the People’s Protection Units (YPG) lost their lives and two others injured on June 10th, as a result of a Turkish drone targeting a vehicle near the village of Al-Ahadath in the Shahba region of northern Aleppo countryside.
