Four IDPs and Child Injured in Clash in Occupied Afrin City

Last evening, 29 May, four IDPs loyal to Turkey and a child from the occupied city of Afrin were injured in a brawl between IDPs from Eastern Ghouta and others from rural Aleppo, sparked by the throwing of a stone by a child at a seized shop in the Al-Mahmoudiya neighborhood of occupied Afrin city.

According toour reporter, the IDP, hailing from Eastern Ghouta and in control of the shop, verbally abused the child for throwing stones at the premises. When the child’s parents heard the insults directed at their child, they responded in kind. The altercation escalated into an exchange of gunfire, resulting in injuries to four IDPs, including two children, and a child from the occupied Afrin city suffering a gunshot wound to the head.

In a separate incident on May 26, an IDP youth from Aleppo was wounded by a knife during a brawl between several IDP youths from Aleppo and Damascus. The clash involved the use of sticks and knives due to disputes in front of a mosque in the occupied city of Afrin.

Furthermore, an armed confrontation took place on May 25 between militants from the town of Einjara in western rural Aleppo, belonging to the “Nur al-Din al-Zenki” militias and the “Jaysh al-Sharqiya” faction, in the city of Jindires. The clash involved the use of light weapons, and the reasons behind it remain unclear.
