In a recent development, our correspondent in Afrin has learned that the Turkish authorities have arrested a citizen from the Arab community of Afrin. The arrest took place on Saturday, 29 April, just days after the detention of three others, on charges related to their service in the compulsory during the previous Autonomous Administration period in Afrin.
The Turkish authorities arrested the citizen, Mohammed Abid (33 years old), who works as a truck driver. He resides near the Al-Karama School in the old neighborhood of Afrin.
On April 26th, the Kurdish young men “Agid Abdo”, “Habash Habash” and Hussein Matar (32 years old) and Issa (30 years old), both from the Arab community of Afrin and residents of the village of Tel Tawil, were also arrested.
Meanwhile, the intelligence agency released the citizen Ahmed Rasool (34 years old) on April 25th. Prior to his release, Rasool was detained for approximately a week on the same charges. It is worth mentioning that Rasool had to pay a fine of 300 dollars before the Turkish authorities released him.
