Militia-Led Kidnapping and Extortion Scheme in Rajo, Led by Abu Hatem Shqra

afrinpost – Exclusive

Afrin Post has learned today, March 6, that the “Ahrar Al-Sharqiya” militia, led by a certain “Abu Hatem Shqra”, had kidnapped the citizen “Nouri Billo” (known as Khujah Baldin) from the town of Rajo about five months ago, and held him for two weeks on a flimsy pretext. He was released after being forced to pay a ransom of 11,000 US dollars.

Reliable sources confirmed to afrinpost that “Kamal Al-Ashqar Abu Heddo”, who is the economic officer of the militia, blamed the citizen “Nouri” for the failure of a failed commercial project, a dairy and cheese factory owned by a certain “Khaled Abu Kanaan” and another armed person. Disputes arose between them, even though Billo had only a firsthand view of the partnership between the two parties.

The aforementioned “Abu Heddo”, who is considered the right-hand man of the leader “Abu Hatem Shqra”, controls the Rajo district and has control over all aspects of life in the area. He is responsible for carrying out kidnapping operations for financial extortion, as well as land grabbing and imposing taxes and other illegal practices.
