Military Police Member Seizes and Sells Homes of Kurds in Occupied Afrin

Local sources have reported that an armed individual known as “Ahmed Al-Jasem” has been seizing several homes owned by Kurdish citizens in the occupied city of Afrin, and periodically selling them to acquaintances and relatives.

He recently sold the home of the forcibly displaced “Rashid Rashid” from the village of Kaxrê, to his cousin for $750. The house is located opposite the park in al-Ashrafieh neighborhood.

He also rented out the home of the forcibly displaced “Haval Rashid,” which is located next to the house of “Rashid Rashid,” to an IDP from southern rural Aleppo named “Abu Ali,” who works in the industrial area.

On March 30th of last month, he sold the home of the forcibly displaced citizen “Xebat Rashid” from the village of Kaxrê to one of his relatives for $800.

Al-Jasem, still holds the home of citizen “Aslan Sheikh” from the village of Qêsim, located on Jîn Afrin Street in al-Ashrafieh neighborhood.

The sources added that the so-called “Ahmed Al-Jasem” is a member of the Military Police militia and hails from Al-Sabeenah in the countryside of Damascus. He engages in the trade of homes while residing in a tent in the camp located at the Agricultural Airport.
