Armed members of the “Hayat Tahrir al-Sham” organization dismantled several fuel stations today along the road between the village of Ghazawiyah in the Sherawa district of occupied Afrin and the city of Darat Azza in western Aleppo, according to reports.
Our reporter said that several military vehicles belonging to “Hayat Tahrir al-Sham” headed towards the road between Ghazawiyah village and Darat Azza city, and began dismantling about three fuel stations completely near the forest of Ghazawiyah village and several others along the Ghazawiyah-Darat Azza road, under the pretext of selling fuel at prices lower than those in the areas under “Hayat Tahrir al-Sham” control in Idlib province.
The difference in fuel prices between Afrin and Idlib is as follows: European gasoline is sold for $1.15 in Afrin, while in Idlib it is sold for $1.175, European diesel is sold for $0.98 in Afrin, while in Idlib it is sold for $1.078, and processed diesel is sold for $0.56 in Afrin, while in Idlib it is sold for $0.519.
It is worth noting that “Hayat Tahrir al-Sham” checkpoints prohibit the entry of any petroleum derivatives coming from the occupied city of Afrin into Idlib province, and seize them immediately. Additionally, anyone caught smuggling fuel into areas under their control is subject to imprisonment on smuggling charges.
