Reports from Afrin indicate that the pro-“Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham” militia group, “Ahrar al-Sham Islamic Movement,” has opened an office in the industrial area of the occupied city and named it the “Industrial Management Office.” This office is being used to impose illegal taxes on local artisans under the guise of regulating work and protecting civilians in the industrial market.
In addition, the “Suleiman Shah/Al-Amshat” militia is imposing a “Eid bonus” fee of 300 Turkish Lira on wholesale shops in the Hal Market and the industrial area, just days after imposing a fee of 100 Turkish Lira on retail stores.
Furthermore, the “Sultan Murad” militia has increased the rental prices for sidewalk stalls in the Rajo street to 1,000 Turkish Lira until the end of the holiday season. This is a significant increase from the previous price of 500 Turkish Lira in the occupied city of Afrin.
