Afrin, Syria – Two fighters from Afrin Liberation Forces has lost their lives on Saturday evening during a clash with elements of the Turkish-allied National Army militias in the Sherawa axis of rural Afrin.
Our reporter said that Syrian regime soldiers withdrew from their positions when National Army militias infiltrated, prompting Afrin Liberation Forces to intervene and repel the attack, resulting in intense clashes between the two sides. The confrontation resulted in the death of two fighters from Afrin Liberation Forces.
Following the clashes, Turkish forces heavily shelled the vicinity of the villages of Aqiba and Bênê\Abbin in the Sherawa sub-district, as well as the villages of Mar’naz and Malikiyah in the Shara sub-district of Afrin.
Our reporter also stated that thousands of forcibly displaced people from Afrin mourned the two fighters on Sunday, as funeral processions were held from Avrin Hospital in the Fafin sub-district to the Martyrs’ Shrine in Ahres village in the Shahba region of northern Aleppo.
Afrin Liberation Forces issued a statement today announcing the martyrdom of two of its fighters, Mahmoud Ibrahim from Balbala sub-district, born in 1980, and Rezan Sido from Balbala sub-district as well, born in 1992, during clashes with National Army militias in the Shirawa axis of occupied Afrin.
In a related development, fierce clashes erupted between Afrin Liberation Forces and National Army militias in the Talal Al-Anab village axis in the eastern Aleppo countryside, resulting in the killing and wounding of several National Army militia members by Afrin Liberation Forces.
