Local sources reported that the Turkish-affiliated military police has arrested a citizen named Salah Ismail Hamou from the village of Dîkê in the Bulbul sub-district. The arrest on Wednesday night was made on weak charges as a means of extortion.
Hamo is married and has three children. He used to work in construction before changing careers to become a men’s hairdresser. Additionally, he experiences heart problems
As well as, the Turkish authorities had previously arrested several citizens for participating in a sit-in and protest held in front of the Newroz martyrs’ house in the occupied city of Jindires. The citizens were released after paying a bail of $400.
The arrest of Salah Ismail Hamo is another example of the Turkish authorities ongoing violations of human rights and freedoms in Afrin.
