Turkish authorities released six citizens on Monday who were detained on Saturday, March 25th. This was after intervention by Kurdish tribes and payment of a bail of $400 USD for each detainee.
The security checkpoint, belonging to Turkish authorities, arrested a number of Kurdish citizens while they were on their way from the city of Afrin to the protest tent set up in front of the home of Newroz martyrs in the city of Jindires.
Among the detainees were Shouqi Jameel 41, and another young man named Mervan 25, from the village of Korkan. The number of those detained at the checkpoint was around 10 citizens.
On Friday, March 24th, a checkpoint of the military police militia on the Jindires road tried to prevent a number of locals from going to the city of Jindires to raise the flag of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. However, they continued their way after negotiations and headed to the house of the four martyrs in the city of Jindires.
