According to a correspondent for afrinpost, the Turkish authorities in Afrin city have released four citizens from Kafr Zita village after each paid a bail of $400. The release came about two weeks after the citizens were arrested by the Civil Police for allegedly dealing with the previous Autonomous Administration in Afrin.
The six citizens, including Bakr Hassan Khero, Reber Hassan Khiro, Ali Kalu, Mohamed Fareed, Adnan Abdou, and Mohamed Kalu, were arrested on January 17th and 18th, 2023, from their homes in the village. “Mohamed Kalu” was released a day after his arrest, while “Bakr Khiro, Reber Khiro, Mohamed Fareed, and Adnan Abdou” were released two weeks ago. Citizen “Ali Kalu” remains under arrest.
The release of the four citizens will come as a relief to their families and loved ones, who have been calling for their release since their arrest. It remains to be seen whether “Ali Kalu” will also be released soon. The situation in Afrin continues to be tense, with many citizens facing arbitrary arrests and detention by the Turkish authorities.
