Militant affiliated with the Turkish-affiliated “Faylaq al-Majd” Islamist group has kidnapped and tortured two Kurdish citizens in the villages of Zarka and Chubana in the Rajo sub-district.
According to local sources, armed members of the “Faylaq al-Majd” militia, led by a person known as “Mohammed Haboub,” nicknamed “Abu al-Walid,” kidnapped a 26-year-old Kurdish citizen, Shekho Hurik Dawood, on March 12, accusing him of planting an explosive device in his car with the intention of assassinating him. They took him to the militia’s headquarters and brutally beat him.
According to verified sources, it has been confirmed that “Abu al-Walid” had deliberately orchestrated the aforementioned scenario in an attempt to extort money from the young man. It is noteworthy that a Turkish army patrol arrived at the village and successfully defused the bomb that had been detonated in close proximity to the residential area
The sources added that the young man “Shekho” was released four days after his abduction.
As part of his brutal practices against innocent civilians in areas under his control, the so-called “Abu al-Walid,” abducted another citizen Mohammad Bilal Abdou, 34 years old, from his home in the village of Chubana – Rajo, on charges of managing properties of forcibly displaced people. He was subjected to severe torture and released two days after his abduction.
