Turkish-affiliated Militias Seize Earthquake Relief Aid in Afrin and Jindires

afrinpost – Exclusive

Our reporter in Afrin stated that Turkish-affiliated militias are placing their hands on all the relief aid that enters Afrin and Jindires, and taking shares of it in the presence of a United Nations delegation that arrived to inspect the humanitarian situation in the occupied Afrin region.

The Sultan Suleiman Shah/Al-Amshat militia seized a large portion of relief aid on Thursday in the bazaar square in the occupied city of Afrin.

The Sultan Murad militia stationed in al-Zaidiyya neighborhood seized relief shares that were coming from Europe for the family of Hajj Nasser, while armed men from Ghouta distributed aid and relief shares by hand only to their relatives and families from the countryside of Damascus.

The self-proclaimed “Abu Ryan Al-Homsy,” the leader of the “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” militia, seized 200 relief shares provided by the Barzani Charitable Association in the Afrin stadium after the United Nations delegation and members of the local council finished their visit to the site.

It is worth noting that a United Nations delegation led by the Chief Coordinator of the Office for Humanitarian Affairs and representatives of UNICEF and the World Health Organization, David Carden, visited the occupied Afrin region yesterday and toured the affected areas.

The President of the Syrian National Coalition, Salem Al-Meslet, accompanied a Qatari delegation that entered northern Syria on February 12, on a tour of two settlements, the first and second Qatari villages on the outskirts of the town of Shieh/Sheikh Al-Hadid, trying to convince the Qatari delegation that the residents of the two settlements are the earthquake victims and survivors.

It is planned to establish a new settlement called “City of Dignity” under the cover of rebuilding the affected areas due to the earthquake by the “Qatar Charity” organization, while the location of the settlement to be built in the Afrin region is not known.
