Militants belonging to the Turkish-backed “Sultan Murad” militia cut down about 60 olive trees belonging to the Kurdish citizen “Ramzi Omar,” from the village of Maarska in the district of Shara / Sharan, and transported the stolen firewood to the occupied city of Afrin to sell to be sold there for about 100 to 135 US dollars per ton.

Yesterday, Saturday, sources said that a patrol of the “Sultan Murad” militia near the pine forest surrounding the city of Afrin from the side of the Al-Zaydiyah neighborhood, were logging most of its trees.

Militants also cut down about 140 olive trees from the fields of the citizens, “Muhammad Ezzat Khalil” and “Muhammad Ali Haj Hanan,” from the village of Maarska in Shara district, and transported the stolen firewood to the market of the occupied city of Afrin.

Although the two citizens filed a complaint with the “Committee for Restitution of Rights and Grievances,” the committee did not take any action regarding the militia’s ongoing cutting down of their trees.
