Turkish-backed militias impose royalties on olive season, up to 50%, in Afrin

According to our reporter, the Turkish-backed “Sultan Murad” militia imposed, yesterday, Monday November 28th, a can of olive oil (16 kg) as a tribute in kind, on every Kurdish farmer from the villages of Ain Hajar and Omo in the Mobata / Maabatli district, as well as in the villages of Qara Tappa, Qurt Qulaq, Qastal Kishk, and others, after the completion of the olive harvest season, under the pretext of protecting the crop from thefts, although the current year season witnessed acts of theft and looting by the gunmen and the IDPs on a large scale.

The reporter added that the Turkish-backed “Jaish Al-Nukhba” militia imposed a can of olive oil on the Kurdish farmers in the villages of Shekhutka and Amara in the Maabatli district, noting that 50% was imposed on the properties and olive oil of the displaced and absentees, which are managed by their families under agencies issued by the Turkish local councils.

In a related context, unknown thieves looted, yesterday morning, Monday, two cans of olive oil from a car near the “Abu Bakr” mosque in “Azadi” square in the center of the occupied city of Afrin, northwestern Syria, belonging to Abdul Rahman Hassan, a resident of the town of Bulbul in Afrin countryside.
