“Ahrar al-Sharqiya” releases Kurdish person they tortured and forced to pay ransom

The Turkey-allied Ahrar al-Sharqiya militia released on October 30, 2022, the Kurdish person, Muhammad Muslim Qalandar, about a week after his kidnapping.

Our reporter said that “Qalandar, 35-year-old”, was beaten and abused during the period of his enforced disappearance by “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” militants, and he was forced to pay 10 cans of olive oil as ransom.

The young Kurdish man was kidnapped on October 25, 2022, from his home in the occupied city of Afrin by “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” militia, on the pretext of “picking an olive field belonging to his uncle, Izzat Qalandar” near the “Sousse Bridge” at the Mobata/Maabatli Junction, although he manages the field according to a power of attorney issued by the local council in the town, the reporter added.
